Patrick De`Angelo Cannon is the CEO of property management and design company EZ Parking that he founded in 1998 and Partner of a chemical and industrial supply company.
He is also an at-large representative on the Charlotte City Council. Elected in 1993, he is serving his sixth consecutive term. He served four terms as the representative for City Council District 3, before being elected to his at-large seat in 2001.
Council member Cannon served as Mayor Pro Tem during the 2001-2003 term and was re-elected to the position for the 2003 - 2005 term.
Cannon is active in the National League of Cities where he serves on the Community and Economic Development steering committee and as an at-large member on the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO). On the state level he is a member of the North Carolina League of Municipalities, and a former Governor Hunt appointee to the North Carolina Governor's Crime Commission. Locally, Cannon serves as a board member for A Child's Place, Blumenthal Performing Arts Board of Trustees, Charlotte Center City Partners, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Political Caucus, and is a member of the NAACP (Life Member) and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
